These knives belong the Pakka X50 range from the brand Wusaki. All the knives from this series have sharp blades made of German stainless steel X50CrMoV15. They have a great resistance corrosion, and thanks to its hardness of 56/58 HRC in the Rockwell scale, they are easy to sharpen.

What makes these blades so special is their hammered surfaces. Indeed, each blade is hammered with a press, which creates original patterns on the blade’s surface, which is not only great for the knife’s aesthetics but also useful to reduce the stickiness of the blade when cutting food. Moreover, the V-shaped edge of each blade was manually sharpened with a leather band at an angle 15°.

Another important part of these knives are the handles. They are made of pakkawood, which is a composite material resistant to water. The veignings ot the pakkawood give the knife a beautiful wooden look. To maximise your comfort, the handle of each knife is bigger than average so that your grip can be more pleasant.

We recommend to wash these knives only by hand. Before storing them away, make sure to dry them with a soft cloth. Following these tips will allow you to preserve better the look and quality of your knives. When you take them from the box for the first time, they will be covered with a layer of oil that protects the blades. You simple need to wash the oil off and your knives will be ready to be used!

Furthermore, this pack also comes with a Wusaki whetstone, which you can use to sharpen the knives in this pack as well as other knives that you might already have in your kitchen. This sharpening stone has a double-side design, which means that it has two different faces with different grit. 

– Grit #1000: medium fine grains ideal to hone all kitchen knives that start to lose their sharpness.

– Grit #3000: fine grains perfect for finishing and polishing the edge of the blades. This side gives a razor-sharp edge to your blades. Use after having used first the grit #1000.

The whetstone comes with a black, non-slip base made of silicone in which you can put the stone to ensure stability whilst you sharpen your knives. For an optimal usage of this sharpening stone, we recommend you to soak it in water 15 minutes before usage, and during usage, do not hesitate to add some drops of water when the surface starts to dry.
